PISTOIA

The birth of the City of Pistoia dates from the Roman period of expansion, although some archeological finds found in Piazza del Duomo, attest to the presence of some settlements Etruscans. Pistoia City began as a fortified place for refreshment of militia troops, hence the name from the Latin Pistoriae, namely the oven for bread.
